Dragons Dream - tag it on challege !

I've had a month to get round to this and have been making plans in my head over what I would do - funny how things turn out very differently isnt it?
The challenge is for Dragonsdream tag it on (who has been off on a cruise)! Her website is over at http://dragon-dragonsdream.blogspot.com

I made this tag using Mel's TH butterfly die but I used four of the large butterfly wings to double up to look more like a dragonfly. I coloured the wings and then stuck them to vellum for a slightly transparent look. I thought it needed a bit of "blinging-up" so glittered all over the turquoise wings.

I have also used a new dragonfly stamp and some embossing powders and ink to create the background.
I wanted some words on the tag saying "Happiness, strength and Courage" (as this is what dragonflies represent in Japan) but I just couldn't find a way to fit them in!

WOYWW - 20 Oct 2010

It's what's on your bottom stair Wednesday for me this week! I have finished my Halloween tags and am very happy with them but almost forget to take a photo as they went off in the post!
I am also entering them into the Creative Inspirations Challenge (the theme, oddly enough, being Halloween. You can find the blog over at http://creativeinspirationschallenge.blogspot.com
WOYWW is hosted by Julia at http://stamping_ground.blogspot.com - go and have a nosy!

I havent made a start on my birthday lighthouse yet - but I do have plans and I expect it will be distressed and shabby!

I thought some of you might like to see the pup - she's now almost 5 months old and the changes that have occurred over the past 3 months are nothing short of amazing. We wonder if this dog ate our puppy? She's now 13kg and can reach the kitchen counter standing on her back legs - which could potentially be a problem in the cooking department!

WOYWW - 13 Oct 2010

Julia at Stamping Ground - http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com is hosting another WOYWW and here is my entry this week. Go over to her place to take a peek!

After telling everyone last week how tidy and organised I am, I find myself with an unusually messy desk due to having a birthday yesterday! My lovely family bought me some scrapping stuff to add to the collection:
Some Christmas papers
dragonfly stamp
Humming bird stamp
heart and notes stamp
Sissixtexture boutique
An oval scallop punch
A lighthouse for altering - I love it but I'm worried about making a mess of it and have NO idea where to start!!!

Casey painted a clothes hanger for me which also features a lighthouse (they know me so well)!
I also got enough money to buy myself a sewing machine!!!! Not that I have a clue what to do with it when I get it but I'll have to learn!

I also thought I'd show you a sneeky peeky at my Halloween tags for the UKS tag swap this month. They feature Jack Skelleton from "A Nightmare Before Christmas" because he's kind of cute-scary and not just horrific! I have added some pumpkin and spider charms and used my new TH spiderweb mask.

My growing bump & WOYWW

On Saturday, Lou and I went for a visit to the hospital to have a look around the labour and post-natal wards as I haven't been there for nearly nine years and I wanted to refresh my memory. I have to say it's made me even more nervous than ever as the memories surfaced up again and I wondered 'what have I done'?! It's all getting much closer now, I've reached 30 weeks, and I'm so excited to meet my baby girl, but the birth part is scaring me slightly!

I asked Lou to take a few picutures of me and my bump, I didn't have any photo's taken of me in my last pregnancy and it seems a shame I have no record of it, so wanted to make sure I didn't make the same mistake again. William, my son joined in for some of the photo's and I love them.

I've made two 8x8 layouts for my pregnancy scrapbook, I'm still finding it hard to work with anything smaller than the 12x12 as there seems to be no room for anything much on it and I want the photo's to be the main event! If anyone can think of a suitable title for the layout of William and myself I'd love to hear it, I had one of those many blank moments! Baby brains I think they call it!
Thanks Lou, and hope you like them x

I decided to add my WOYWW photo beneath Mel's gorgeous LO's because I sooo want you to see her bump LO's - I'm very proud as I took the photos but she made them extra fab by pretting them up!

Someone mentioned last week that they never see my "mess" - thats because I'm an organised crafter and cant stand a ton of mess. I'm the type who makes lists of what I'm going use and I draw LO's before I put them together. I get everything out that I need and then put everything away and you'll never find my desk covered in materials overnight! I can't help it - organisation is my job - I wish I could be messy and spontaneous but it makes me feel really stressed! (You should try holidaying with me - you might even get a toilet break)!

I've taken two shots of work in action - one of my autumn challenge tag and another of my halloween October tag swap. Dont worry - everything was back where it belonged immediately after the pics were taken!

Here Comes Autumn!

Morning all!

I mentioned challenge blogs the other day which are a great source of inspiration. I've found another one over at Tuesday Taggers!
You can find them at http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com

This weeks' theme is "Here Comes Autumn" which is very fitting as the leaves are well and truly turning here in Bucks.
I am also entering the tag into the Stamp Man Challenge (see side bar for logo).

I have used my autumnal distress inks and my new clarity stamps topped off with heavy brown lace and gold thread.

Looking forward to next Tuesday.....
